Lyrics Of This Card

They told us she fell, no reason why.
Now I look down at her and cry
Mom, please wake up, just blink your eye,
Squeeze my hand, please just a sigh.

The room is quiet except for the vent and beep from the IV.
Her wounds dressed the cuts and bruises covered up.

I wipe the dried blood from around her lips, bend down and kiss her, gently caress her cheek.
I want to sing her a song, her favorite hymn, but im unable to even speak.

So instead I quietly hum her a lullaby.

The doctors make rounds and tell us to decide.
Can I make the choice whether she lives or dies?

Please God, help me. How do I do this? Isn’t this your area?
Take this out of my hands, don’t make me do this.

I’m just human, not a God. I’m selfish and greedy. I’m not ready to set her free. I don’t want to be an orphan; I just want my mom with me
