First, I would like to thank all who voted for “Remember Me” – both Poetry Craze members and the official judges. This is a very heart-felt poem not only about my personal thoughts regarding mortality and Faith, but also a remembrance of my Mother-In-Law, and dear Father. My Mother-In-Law died in her sleep (‘Will I slip away cold ashen lips?”) and my Father, suffered a slow and painful death from cancer (“or slowly fade with each shallowed breath?”). Again, I am honored by this win and I’m looking forward to submitting additional poems to share other thoughts and experiences with all of you.
